It's been a while...

This book is currently on my wish list. I have an obsession with her books. I finished my exams on the tenth of May, my boyfriend has returned from India so I am a very happy bunny. But this also means that I now have time to read for pleasure... something I have greatly missed. Not to say that I haven't enjoyed some of the books that I have had to read for my course (all thirty of them), but not very often is fantasy on the "essential reading" list.

Roll on dissertation time! Ha. No... I do not want to go there... I will stick to floating around till my second year and not even breach these scary thoughts.

I am also ridiculously happy because I have been told that I have a job in America over the summer. I am off to New Jersey which isn't very far from New York! One thing that did intrigue me however, was during my application process for a visa.

America - or the U.S embassy at least does not feel the need to ask females about their education from eleven upwards. In fact I don't think I was questioned on my education at all! Males are apparently asked according to my guide on "how to fill in the Visa Form", but not females. I find this puzzling, not because of how rude it is, but because it is America. America the place that is always striving to be ahead of everyone else, in technology, money, health etc etc. But why not care what women are coming into the country? Are females not as much of a threat? (Why thank you for thinking we are soft and spongey - but I can be an awful bitch at times). Just puzzling.

Never the less I am very excited and I am due to leave June tenth! Although this means I am leaving my boyfriend for another three months (it is like we never see each other) he shall meet me out there and we shall play in the sunshine and pray for no more volcano eruptions.

BF was in India for three months, only back for a month and then I leave again, we shall spend another month together and then we shall have to both return to University (he is in Plymouth, I am in London) - seems crazy. Although I hope to visit him a lot more next year if I can get some weekends off work and also afford the train tickets.

Let us not mention money - it is a sore spot.

I hope everyone is enjoying the fabulous weather at the moment, bank holiday coming up so I am sure it will rain.

x
