It has been a mad mad couple of weeks for me. Feeling emotionally and physically drained, but I manned the fuck up and continued on. I have all my essays in for next week and so have been trying to make them reasonable... though this is difficult as really all I would like to do is disappear into my duvet of warmth and joy.
It has been bizarre this year, usually I love the snow, I will go out and play in it for HOURS. Last year, Ben, Nick and myself made a full sized igloo in the field in front of the church which took us about six hours. It was amazing. However, this year I am very much more excited by the prospect of a warm fire and preferably a dog curled up at my feet. Does this make me sound old??
Anyay, going home to Kent tomorrow so on Sunday I can walk the dog in the snow, watch my brother's choir do a christmas carol concert and have delicious roast! YUM YUM.
I have been baking this week, I say "I", I definitely had help. But we made mince pies and jam tarts. Also just finished off a chocolate cake from scratch with buttercream.... all by myself. I am very happy. I don't think I have actually made a cake before! hehehe.
I have had mulled wine in plentiful this week, and enjoyed listening to my housemates singing christmas songs around the house. Need to get my self in gear and start the christmas cards (I received my first one on the first!) and I also need to finish the homemade gifts!
Since I have been at Uni I have made homemade gifts for the family etc. They go down well, so I do not mind, and I enjoy making them. Just I sometimes feel very cheap. Sigh.
This is all I have to report, sounds dull and very everyday, but I am enjoying the little things in life at the moment. Hope everyone stays wrapped up warm, my toes are currently froze as my the boiler has gone. Boo. Stay smiley and GET INVOLVED in Christmasey things. Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park here I come!
Big Love
